Drum & Cymbal Names
Our teachers will introduce you to the different names of the parts of the drum kit and over time learn their individual functions.
Posture & Positioning
You will be taught how to set yourself up at the drums to best navigate the kit. Learn how to use the arms and hands with ease. Maximise your efforts with the kick technique on the bass drum.
Drum Notation
You will be taught how to read a drum chart and understand the basics of drum notation. Learn how the different lines of the drum chart apply to the specific parts of the kit and what the various symbols mean.
Style Studies
Our teachers have great repertoire for you to study and they are also interested in knowing what music you would like to learn. There’s plenty of drum styles to enjoy learning from rock to reggae.
Drum in a Band
A drummer is the engine of a band. We have the opportunity for our drum students to jam and perform with other musicians at Adelaide Music World in our studios and our live music event, ‘Student Gig’.
