Our Teachers

Sophie

Sophie is a singer-songwriter studying music composition at the University of Adelaide. Sophie’s delightful rapport with young children and her musical feel make her a wonderful Encore Music course teacher. Her skills range from popular songwriting to complex music theories.

Declan

Declan teaches classical, contemporary & jazz guitar. He owns 5 guitars & is in 2 Adelaide bands, ‘Broken Waves’ & ‘Velvet Void’. As a teacher, Declan enjoys seeing his students develop through their music lessons, both with their guitar skills & the personal development that comes along with learning an instrument.

Ava

Ava loves sharing her passion for music with her students. Ava is an incredibly talented musician and an accomplished pianist. She is also a singer and plays guitar, clarinet as well as a very expressive composer and arranger too. Ava is studying a Bachelor or Arts majoring in music at University Adelaide. Her musical versatility makes her a wonderful asset to our school and her students.

Matthew

Graduating with Honours in Music Performance, Matt is a guitarist of exceptional quality and his stylistic diversity as a musician is a very valuable asset to his students. From Rock to Classical, electric to acoustic, Matt tailors his teaching approach to the student whilst developing their exposure to the world of guitar music.

Mei

Mei is a super-talent and highly skilled violin & pianist. Mei is studying Music Education & Pedagogy at the University of Adelaide. Her creative approach to teaching classical music & her skills make Mei a brilliant teacher. Finesse and musical sophistication describe Mei beautifully.

Enne

Enne is an internationally performing composer and musician. Enne teaches electric bass and double bass and the Encore Music courses. Fostering creativity is one of Enne’s special teaching abilities. Enne is one of Adelaide’s most exciting musicians & recently the recipient of numerous awards including COMA’s Emerging Jazz Writers Award for 2023.

Nigel

From Rock to Reggae, from beginners to advanced students, Nigel can do it all. Because of his versatility Nigel is involved in a number of Adelaide bands. He is an excellent communicator and demonstrator making him an exciting drum teacher.

Casey

Casey comes from a musical family & her beautifully nurtured love for music she enjoys sharing with her students. Casey is a pianist, composer, writer, producer & her many skills are an enormous asset to her students. Her father Gil Sullivan is one of Australia’s greatest concert pianists & Casey’s exposure to performing is excellently reflected in her teaching.

Cameron

Cameron is a highly skilled musician specialising in percussion and drumming. He has been involved in over thirty musicals as musician, conductor and musical director. As well as teaching drums he also teaches bass guitar. Cameron has experience with concert bands, groups and a varying range of ensembles. His multi-instrument skills plus musical versatility make him a valuable asset to his students’.

Anne

Anne has a Bachelor of Music Degree majoring in Education and Pedagogy. She is one of our specialist piano teachers and is passionate about the art of playing the piano. Student progress & accomplishment is one of Anne’s many excellent teaching abilities.

Ryan

Ryan teaches voice & guitar at Adelaide Music World focusing on popular music styles, He is in a Music Performance course & enjoys passing on his love for performing to his students.

kaitlin

Our violin specialist, Kaitlin, is dedicated to inspiring her students. She believes the more students’ practice the more they enjoy music. Producing quality sounds on the violin from the beginning is one of her teaching priorities. She starts teaching students to pluck and bow right from the start to accelerate musical involvement. Kaitlin enjoys the music of Mozart & Verdi.

james

With a Masters in Piano Performance & Pedagogy from the University of Adelaide as well as a long list of awards, James has an abundance of talents to offer our pianists as well as an advanced set of skills for our ambitious piano students. He personally loves to play the piano music of Brahms, Beethoven & Schubert. James believes nurturing his students’ love of music keeps them motivated to practice and reflects on the quote ‘Where words leave off, music begins’ by poet, Heinrich Heine when thinking about music’s ability to express emotion.

Josiah

Josiah is a multi-skilled musician with an extraordinary skill range. He plays piano, guitar, drums and his creativity expands to songwriting arranging and composition. He is very focused on the quality of the learning environment for his students making him an ideal Encore group tuition teacher. Josiah’s love for music is an inspiration to his students.
